evening of the 23rd june 2025 the first indication was the immediate closer of qatari airspace, this was “in order to ensure the safety of citizens, residents, and visitors" with inbound flights diverting to bahrain. during this time i for one wouldn't like to have been based at al udeid air base - although with recent USAF transport aircraft movements it was fair to the air base was at least as 'empty' as possible. with the closing of qatari airspace there was still heavy commercial aircraft movement over the persian gulf, the discussion was then a matter of not if but when UAE air space would then be closed. congestion flight path seen here at the time.
